Natural or shining: all the colours of 2026

Nude colours on the lips, graphic lines and metallic shades for the eyes, and a radiant complexion with rosy accents set the tone for the first part of 2026. Makeup trends shift between simplicity and carefully placed touches of colour and light that draw attention to detail. Here are a few ideas and inspirations from runways and editorials, while we wait to see what street style and social media will favour.

Lips: nude hues and blurred effects

The lip combo trend is not going anywhere next year, this time painted in natural shades that are often barely noticeable. Rosy or peachy tones are chosen according to the complexion and mixed to enhance the shape and volume of the lips.

Korean beauty brings in the blurred lips look, where colour is softened around the edges to create a gentle, dainty effect. Nothing to do with the smudged lipstick of punk or grunge styles: it’s made with rosy or nude shades, applied without a lip liner but with great precision.

Those who prefer a more defined style can take heart, as classic red lips are still very much in fashion. The 2026 version focuses on intense colour, whether with a matte finish or a vinyl effect, paired with a subtle makeup on the eyes and a natural complexion. This means the lip liner and the base need to be flawless, since the lips take centre stage.

Eyes: bright colours and touches of light

For eye makeup, 2026 trends draw inspiration from the Sixties, bringing green back into the spotlight and highlighting cool tones with pearly, iridescent finishes.

Metallic colours are everywhere, used as accents that refine and elevate the look: on the catwalks we’ve seen bright touches of metallic hues at the inner corner of the eyelid or a defined line along the lower lash line.

Graphic eyeliners will also feature prominently, in black or colour and sometimes with red hues. In these looks the rest of the face remains very natural, with nude lips and a luminous complexion.
