Ingredients and trends: 3 highlights from Cosmoprof

Meetings, conversations and ideas: once again this year, the days at Cosmoprof were full of insights and topics to explore with our clients and the companies we met at the trade fair. Let’s take a look at three key highlights from the 2026 edition, always an important moment for Confalonieri.

Lips in the spotlight

Lip pencils are among our most appreciated products, and this year’s Cosmoprof was no exception. Visitors loved our Lip2 mini lip palettes, the new double-tip pencils with two colours combining style and practicality, as well as the gel-effect texture of our Jelly line, with its glossy finish and intense colour payoff.

As for upcoming makeup trends, the nude lips trend apparently is here to stay, with a focus on cool undertones. We’re ready to experiment: our colour library includes over 5,000 references, not to mention the custom hues we can create on request.

Custom ingredients and skincare

For us at Confalonieri it’s a point of pride to create products that combine makeup performance with respect for the skin, carefully selecting ingredients and studying formulas that enhance hydration and the overall appearance of the skin.

This year, there has been increasing attention on textures enriched with skincare-style hydrating actives, to be transformed into high-performance, colour-rich private label pencils. During Cosmoprof, we presented two lines featuring ceramides, Lip2 and the Ossidiana metallic eye pencils, while our R&D team is always ready to develop new customised solutions for brands.

Sustainable, beautiful

Sustainable ingredients and materials, creating a responsible beauty that cares about our planet: this is no longer just a trend, but a direction that more and more brands are embracing with conviction.
At Confalonieri, we have long been working on both pencil ingredients — such as biodegradable glitter and natural mica replacing plastic-based components — and packaging, offering a range of solutions for coatings and caps with reduced environmental impact. We were very happy to see a lot of interest in formulas with sustainable components and in PP-PCR caps, made from recycled plastic and fully customisable.
